Quran.Foundation is seeking a strategic and mission-driven Head of Marketing to lead the marketing vision and execution for our global Quranic ecosystem — spanning Quran.com, QuranReflect, and our mobile apps. This role is ideal for a leader who excels in marketing strategy, brand stewardship, and digital growth, and who is deeply committed to helping people around the world connect with the Quran in a meaningful and transformative way.

About the Role

The Head of Marketing will translate the organization's long-term vision into clear, actionable, and high-performing marketing plans. This position requires both strategic direction and hands-on execution across campaigns, digital growth, content distribution, PR, and team leadership. The ideal candidate brings proven marketing expertise, strong brand discipline, exceptional communication skills, and an understanding of the sensitivities and responsibilities of Islam-aligned messaging.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Marketing Leadership

  • Execution-Focused Strategy: Translates organizational vision into clear, actionable marketing plans with measurable goals.
  • Campaign Planning: Develops and implements marketing campaigns across digital, print, and live channels that stay true to brand tone and identity.
  • Operational Systems: Establishes dashboards, workflows, and reporting structures to ensure consistent performance tracking and accountability.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Works with product, content, and partnership teams to synchronize messaging and maximize collective impact.

Digital Growth & Engagement

  • Audience Growth: Develops strategies to expand user base and followers through organic and paid channels.
  • Content Distribution: Leads and actively contributes to the promotion of brand content (articles, videos, reflections, learning plans, tafsir, etc.) across social, email, and web platforms.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Tracks engagement metrics and uses analytics to refine strategy and improve ROI.
  • Search & Discoverability: Oversees SEO, SEM, and keyword optimization to ensure strong visibility across search engines and social algorithms.
  • AI Discoverability: Ensures Quran.Foundation's platforms, content, and messaging are optimized for discoverability across AI ecosystems, including AI search engines, conversational assistants, and emerging AI-driven discovery platforms.

Brand Stewardship (Within Defined Guidelines)

  • Brand Consistency: Ensures communications strictly follow established visual identity, tone, and values.
  • Quality Control: Reviews all marketing collateral, social media content, and PR materials for brand alignment and professionalism.
  • Collaborative Mindset: Works seamlessly with internal teams, coordinates with volunteers, and identifies or manages skilled freelancers as needed to ensure consistent quality, brand integrity, and timely delivery.
  • Guideline Literacy: Deeply understands typography, color, photography, and tone-of-voice rules from the brand manual — and enforces them with the team, freelancers, and volunteers.

Public Relations & External Representation

  • Media Relations: Builds and manages relationships with Muslim media, influencers, blogs, etc.
  • Public Image Management: Protects and enhances the organization's reputation across all public touchpoints.
  • Spokesperson Readiness: Can represent the organization confidently in interviews, conferences, or strategic collaborations when needed.
  • Press & Storytelling: Crafts clear, emotionally resonant press releases and stories that communicate impact, authenticity, and global vision.

Communication Excellence

  • Exceptional Copywriting: Produces high-quality written content as needed — including campaign messaging, email copy, landing pages, video scripts, and promotional materials — ensuring all writing is clear, compelling, and aligned with the organization's voice and mission.
  • Internal Communication: Keeps leadership informed with concise performance summaries, campaign briefs, and insights.

Mission & Cultural Alignment

  • Islam-Aligned Sensitivity: Understands the ethics, values, and sensitivities of Islamic messaging.
  • Purpose-Driven Mindset: Passionate about helping people connect with the Quran and amplifying meaningful impact.
  • Global Awareness: Appreciates cultural nuances across diverse audiences.
  • Team Collaboration: Works in harmony with scholars, community managers, and product leads to ensure integrity in every message.

Ideal Background

  • 7–10+ years of experience in marketing, communications, or related fields, with proven experience
  • Demonstrated success in digital marketing, campaign management, and media outreach across diverse platforms
  • Experience leading teams or agencies with strong adherence to established brand and quality guidelines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, compelling, and accurate messaging
  • Experience with public-facing communications in Islamic, nonprofit, or values-driven organizations is preferred
  • Ability to use AI and automation tools wisely and effectively to increase productivity and scale marketing efforts, while applying discernment rooted in Islamic knowledge and organizational values
